Random thoughts

The pregnancy is still really tough. Some women are made for having babies, I ain’t one of them. I’m still battling morning sickness. It eased a bit for a couple of weeks then came back with the vengeance last Friday. It’s hard to make plans and follow through because I don’t know how it’s going to go on a day to day basis. I also have zero stamina, sleep so much, and find it hard to deal with any regular tasks because I get fatigued and dizzy. I’m 17 weeks now and all I can do is keep hoping it will ease soon.

I’ve received the edits from my publisher. I still have some tweaking to do in terms of structure: re-jigging the first and last chapter, addressing some plot points, and character psychology, but it’s much more about my writing style, making sentences read better, deleting extraneous detail. So it’s very slow and laborious. That’s why I’m trying to do a little bit every day so that I move forward. I’m also making electronic notes on the draft because I have to go back and address the structural stuff.

Otherwise my life is pretty much about preparing for the baby and preparing for the book.

My latest guilty pleasure is Wipeout. Yes, it’s low brow, but man there is nothing funnier than humans being used as entertainment. Some of the stuff they do is like from the cartoon. I also love the commentators. So bitchy and funny.

I think my favourite is the red balls and the way that people splat themselves, although the sucker-punch wall is also a huge winner for me.
