Finally, the big announcement. The reason I haven’t been feeling well is because I’m pregnant. Yep, after 11 years of marriage and 10 months of trying, it happened. Unfortunately I suffer from really, really bad morning sickness. I’m down to my vomit a day and have lost weight. Have pretty much zero energy and regular chores are incredibly hard to do. I’m now in my 12th week and I keep hearing it’s supposed to stop, so I’m waiting.

We had the 12 week ultrasound on the 18 June and baby looks good. It was fluttering around like a little goldfish and doing headstands. Gave us a good giggle. The baby is due the last week of December so I’ll have a nice present to start the new year with.

I’ve also found out from my publisher that The Good Daughter is due for release in May 2009. I’m so relieved. I’ll have five months after the birth to prepare for the release. I’m going to meet with my editor and publicist on Wednesday and will be getting revisions and doing some talking about the promotion.

I also have some flash fiction appearing in the new issue of Spinetingler. Some of these stories previously appeared on Flashing in the Gutters. One of them, Game, was quite a talking point on some forums.

I haven’t been writing much. Got ideas for the sequel to The Good Daughter titled The Other Daughter, but until the morning sickness eases I’m pretty much useless. So keep your fingers crossed for that it will pass soon.

I’ve had a bit of difficult month in terms of health. Keep catching bugs and not feeling 100%. I’ve had to pull out of a lot of activities, and used a fair share of sick leave, so I’m going to take a month off from blogging to get my mojo back. I need some time to re-evaluate and get some energy happening.
